Parents really have to trust their photographer. After all, they can’t see what kinds of faces their kids are making because they are on the other side of the camera with them. They are telling the kids to smile and trying their best to make sure they are doing a good job. But in the end it’s the photographer who has to make sure to get good photos of those wiggly children. It helps that I can snap those images quickly!
Kim and David are such a sweet couple who became husband and wife at Kraft Azalea Garden in Winter Park on October 1st, 2013. I was honored to be their wedding photographer here in Orlando. We were emailing with each other since early spring and before I knew it, it was October and time for their big day! Their lakeside ceremony was officiated by the always wonderful Reverend Glynn Ferguson of Sensational Ceremonies. He has such a natural connection with people and the ceremony was very beautiful and touching. (I’m a big fan of the group at Sensational Ceremonies, since they did my own wedding ceremony in 2009!)
All of the flowers, decorations and even ring pillow were designed and handmade by Kim herself. That was even more impressive considering they were here on a vacation from England. I loved the blue feathers in the boutonnieres and bouquets! Speaking of blue, their choice of such a royal and bold blue was perfectly coordinated among them all. The color really stood out at Kraft Azalea and looked gorgeous. Kim looked radiant in her dress, and it was a complete surprise to David that she even had a dress. Yes, they somehow managed to hide a wedding dress in their luggage during their entire trip! Kim’s daughter Samantha was so beautiful as well and I especially loved the lace cap sleeves on her dress. Samantha’s son Taylor was an adorable ring bearer and did his job just perfectly. Lastly, David’s mother Marion was a joy to talk to and I learned about their town which is always interesting for me. I can’t wait to travel back to the UK one day and love to hear any stories in the meantime.
Congratulations to you both and I am wishing you all the best! I hope to see you on a future vacation to Florida.
Thanks to the lovely Maureen of Gourmet Catering Orlando, I am part of an amazing team of Orlando wedding professionals who happen to all be ladies. It has been refreshing to get together and flex our girl power! For the month of October, we are all part of a display at Florida Federation of Garden Clubs, a beautiful and affordable Orlando wedding venue here in Winter Park specifically. The lush landscaping of their property is beautiful for a complete wedding ceremony and reception.
There are a few photos below that I snapped to show a bit of our display. I look forward to working with couples who book at this beautiful garden club. And I hope to work with these ladies in many weddings! They are all wonderful and work so hard to make sure their clients have beautiful and memorable weddings. / Vicki at Peddles, Orlando Wedding Flowers / Chrisanne of Crystal Lake DJ Productions / Sharon at A Chair Affair / Christine Orlando Harpist / and Renee from A Lovely Ceremony, Orlando Wedding Officiant. I’ll be adding new photos of the venue later this month to this post.
Be sure to contact Dawn Murphy at Florida Federation of Garden Clubs if you have any questions about having your wedding at this beautiful space! She is amazing to work with, so personable and knowledgeable! Go ahead, do it now! : )
As a wedding photographer here in Orlando, I do visit the same ceremony venues more than once. However, I look at the events of each wedding day with a new pair of curious and creative eyes. I’m always chasing new angles, compelling scenes and natural light. And at the same time, I seek unique details, interesting surprises and just plain happy. When I met Jack and Tina, I knew right away that photographing their wedding at Leu Gardens would be very special and full of happy. That morning proved to be exactly that and more. While a small and intimate wedding, the feeling of love was big and bold. These two are crazy for each other and it showed in how relaxed and poised they were in front of the camera. And from Tina’s beautiful fascinator to the beautiful bracelet and earrings, the details were unique as they are. Jack even had a special engagement ring for himself which you’ll see in the pictures below! Jack and Tina, I wish you the most sparkling and shining life full of love and adventure.
