While my main focus is always wedding photography here in the Orlando area, I love being able to do things outside of the norm to keep me on my toes! One of those chances came up when I received a request to photograph an insurance company in Lake Mary which works with pilots and aircraft. These ladies and gentlemen were such a great group to collaborate with and they all took some quite striking headshots. I also took some photos of model planes and awards around their offices. While editing those, some of the photos really looked great with monotone coloring which gave me a few ideas on some new branding styles for them which I hope they like. In the past I did a lot of graphic design work so when I have an opportunity to create an interesting visual statement using photos and text, I am a happy artist.
I cannot imagine being any luckier than this, right here and right now. I have the most thoughtful and sweet clients, whether for maternity or family portraits, or a complete wedding. Rayan and Sheila are just sweet and amazing people! They are expecting a little girl and judging by how Sheila’s tummy looks to me at seven months, their daughter is going to be the most precious tiny thing. How exciting, life changing and dear. I feel that Rayan and Sheila’s photos show their love in such a beautiful light. Not only will they cherish these memories forever, but so will their daughter. That is one of the reasons I love maternity photography so much because I like to think about what the children will think about the photos one day. How amazed they’ll be to see such wonderful images of their parents! And to think they will look back on the photos time and time again. Then they’ll show the images to their own children one day. It’s a lifetime of love.
During Rayan and Sheila’s maternity session, some interesting things happened. First we found a yellow and pink rose that someone placed in the ground. It was a sweet surprise! Later the best part unfolded. There was a blue and black butterfly that kept fluttering around us. It would sometimes fly away from us but kept coming right back. That was a first during any of my photo sessions of the last few years! I tried to get a good picture of the butterfly with Sheila but he was a fast mover and I kept changing my settings to focus on her thinking the butterfly was gone. But I will show one of the pictures where the butterfly swooped in. How sweet that was. A special sign?
This couple just makes me smile, smile, smile! Jessica and Isaac had a vintage themed wedding complete with a bouquet of delicate dried flowers finished with a golden dragonfly charm. Their personalities really sparkled when we were able to sneak away for their portraits as the sun set over the beautiful hills of central Florida. A few dragonflies, very likely wearing golden wings, danced around us while we found the perfect spots for photographs. I just loved the sunlight that day – it was gorgeous and really brought out their true and shining love for each other. But Jessica and Isaac’s smiles were really responsible for lighting up the countryside. On a day so very important to them, I was honored to be the photographer who captured those memories.
I am so excited for this couple! For one, they are just the sweetest, so happily in love, and of course so excited for their bundles of joy to arrive. Yes, I said bundles. I haven’t had the opportunity to photograph newborn twins before but now the time has arrived: a boy and a girl are on their way. Jennifer and Johnny are such a gorgeous pair of parents-to-be who are so excited to welcome their babies into the world. Our maternity session kept getting rained out because I always schedule before sunset to catch those beautiful beams of light. The rain has been relentless lately and the skies have been cloudy and dark during what should be my magic hour. After watching a weather map last Sunday nearly all day, I decided that we should just go for it. Storm clouds were passing and there was a pocket of cloud-free sky coming our way. We went ahead and met at one of my favorite spots since I knew it wouldn’t be raining there. The sun was out for us only for a little while, but we came away with some really beautiful shots anyway! Sometimes the clouds are a welcome change in photography, they make for some very unique backgrounds!
