Dana’s friend, Zubaida, found me and asked me to take photos of the engagement celebration for Dana and Haider. It took place at Oasis Lebanese Cuisine in Hillsboro and the night was perfect in every way. I was amazed at how beautiful Dana and Haider were. They definitely made my task of taking portraits outside very easy before they entered the party! We were also so lucky that the sun made an appearance on that rainy spring day here in Portland. We took photos among the flower blossoms and they enjoyed the quiet moment together before dancing the night away. Thank you for including me in this very special occasion!
When I experience a wedding as intimate as this one, I truly feel like part of the celebration more than ever. John and Silvana made me feel welcomed and appreciated from the first time we met to discuss their wedding plans. An easy going and relaxed pair, they invited their close friends and family to their wedding at Victorian Belle. It was my first time shooting there, right at sunset, so that aided the slightly eerie feeling from this 1800s home which was filled to the brim with old relics. When I got past that feeling, there was nothing but brightness and joy from John and Silvana. Gosh, I love these two!
I was completely shocked to see the destruction at Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden last week when I visited with my oldest son. My whole family has enjoyed this park so much since we moved to Portland two years ago. It’s still one of my favorite places to be even though we have now visited so many beautiful places here. It’s just that special. Our plan is always the same when we plan to visit the garden. First we go to Berry Good Produce because they sell duck food and peanuts for the squirrels. Often we pick up local veggies too, or plants during the spring. Then we happily head off to the garden, a familiar place in every season. We know every turn, every nook, and don’t even mind the mean old geese following us around. There are good memories every time!
